Your HP inkjet or laser printer is designed to handle a variety of document types, including labels and stickers. Using your printer, you can create high-quality labels fairly cheaply. Printing labels is much like printing on other types of paper, but making a few adjustments to the default settings will ensure the best results.

Power on the HP printer. Print the label design on regular paper to ensure that it looks the way you want. After printing, remove all regular paper from the printer.

Inspect the label paper for damage, including tears, curls or wrinkles, that may cause a paper jam or poor print quality.

Lower the 'out' tray. Acrosonic piano by baldwin. Move the paper-width guide to the left of the tray.

Load the label paper into the printer. If you have an inkjet printer, fan the paper and load it into the 'in' tray with the label side facing down. For laser printers, load the paper into the input tray with the label side facing up. If your laser printer has a priority feed slot, load a single sheet of label paper into it at a time.

Adjust the paper guides on each side of the tray so they align with the edges of the label paper.

Open the label creation software. Load the labels, then click 'File' and 'Print' to open the printer preferences box.

Select 'Plain' or 'Automatic' as the paper type. Change the paper size, if necessary, to match the size of the paper on which you're printing.

Select a paper source, if applicable. For example, if you have an HP Deskjet, select 'Upper Tray' as the source.

Make any additional changes, such as print quality, then click 'OK' and 'Print.'
